Comment: Variation has concentric circles in the cavetto (circles are faint in face of plate). Amethyst tint can easily be seen with a white background - photo captures only a hint of the color. ( from Bilane Collection, originally Mary Smart Collection, Wolfboro, NH )

Comment: Arch Doty Collection, purchased as LotB58 at Green Valley Auction, Bilane Sale, September 2004: In AGCP Rose notes, with regard to LR89 that "In many specimens there is a curious and, so far as we are concerned, inexplicable double impression of the center pattern." In Bilane's Cup Plate Discoveries, he lists a 90V1 as "Double Impression Opal" It would appear that Rose's comment on LR89 might be better applied to this plate.
