- UVA/UVB ( 'Tanning" ) Irradiation

Tests
Conducted:
Three Cup Plates
(L/R 56 and 467A, which are high lead content "Flint Glass"
and a reproduction 440B, made of "Soda Glass" were irradiated
for the equivalent of 1.6 years by a calibrated source of UVA/UVB radiation.
Test Results:
There was no change
in the color of the test plates as the result of the UVA and UVB radiation
to which they were subjected.

- UVC ("Germicidal") Irradiation
Tests
Conducted:
Three Cup Plates
(L/R 56 - attributed to the Eastern U.S, 145C - Midwest -0 and 101 - Philadelphia)
were subjected to UVC emitted from a special lamp for the equivalent of
18 years years.
Test Results:
There was no change
in the color of the test plates.
Comments:
This test has proven
very conclusively that exposure of high lead content glass Cup Plates
to UVC radiation will not result in any color change in the plate.
